YouTube Will Start Inserting Ads into Non-Monetized Content, Updates Rules Around Facial Recognition
This week, YouTube has announced an update to its Terms of Service which, most notably, includes a new provision that will enable YouTube to insert ads into content that’s not part of the YouTube Partner Program.

An expansion of its #LearnOnTikTok program, which it first announced back in May, TikTok’s now testing a new, dedicated ‘Learn’ stream of videos within the app. The new ‘Learn’ feed would be an alternative to the current ‘Following’ and ‘For You’ streams, giving TikTok users access to a dedicated, vertical-scrolling flow of the platform’s educational video clips.
Additional popular related tiktok tags would be: #learnfromme #visuallearner #letscook #howto #tiktokrecipe #hairtutorials #tipsandtricks #tips #minitutorials

Instagram Tests a New Way for Users to React to Stories Without Sending a DM
This could be interesting — Instagram looks to be testing a new option which would display user reactions to Stories on the story frame itself, as opposed to sending the creator a DM.
Thank god.
It’s really hard to promote engagement in stories without insulting every person who responds. When someone responds to your story, they automatically push to send a DM which becomes an issue.
Those reactions fill your inbox with messages that didn’t necessarily need an answer. This excessive amount of messages pushes down the conversations you did want to keep track of and makes your responding activity a time consuming mess.
Even though Instagram has already provided 3 catagories for messages: General, Primary, and Requests.. I personally think there should be a 4th catagory for Reactions to make is easier to prioritize where you should be spending your time on the app.
