Why Styles just became a mega star

When my mother turned to me and said is Coachella a Harry Styles concert I knew styles just became a megastar.

On the first day of Coachella 2022 I sat down to watch some of the performances from the comfort of my home in Canada. It’s a beautiful spring day and certainly a great time to discover some new music watching the concerts streaming live on YouTube from the biggest music festival of the year.

I browsed through the lineup and started to anticipate some of the great concerts ahead of the night.

One artist I was particularly interested in seeing was Harry Styles. My experience with this artist up until now has been rather limited reviewing his newest song on my YouTube channel ‘As it was. ‘ and only knowing him from previous songs like ‘Sign of the Times. ’

As his set started, I settled in with my glass of wine and iPhone on hand to record my initial thoughts. Three bars and I was already hooked.

Harry styles at Coachella was mesmerizing. As I watched him perform in this debut Coachella 2022 performance, I forgot that I was watching anything else other than the Harry Styles concert. Everything about his performance was spectacular and visually engaging. He performed eight songs from his 2019 album ‘Fine Line’ and made a live debut of a new single ‘As it was’ which is the lead single from his upcoming album ‘Harry’s House.‘ Styles also performed two brand new unreleased songs that were both charming and lyrically relatable, ‘Boyfriends’ and ‘Late night talking’.

Some covers were also performed no doubt from his favorites list like One Direction hit ‘What Makes You Beautiful’.

During a short break, Harry told the crowd “Get ready to dance for 12 minutes” and the entire mood began to shift into a performance that the world needed so desperately.

Harry wore a brilliant mirrored jumpsuit that reminded me of something I would’ve seen in a Queen concert.

The mirrors reflected multiple colored lights across the stage as he danced around like a free bird creating an unbelievable Coachella moment. I think we will all remember this concert for many years to come.

Styles brought out Shania Twain for covers of her hit singles ‘Man I feel like a woman’ and ‘You’re still the one.’ In a heartfelt moment between songs, Harry paid a tribute to Shania thanking her for being the catalyst of moments and memories with his mother growing up.

“ In the car with my mother as a child, this lady taught me to sing. She also told me that men are trash,” he said. “ to you, to the memories you gave me with my mother, I will forever be grateful. I’m so grateful you’re with us here tonight this is very special for me.”

He brought up such an important point that Music forges memories of moments in our lives that we don’t ever want to forget. When an artist creates a song they are creating an opportunity for us to have these memorable moments with people we love. I will always remember Harry talking about singing in the car with his mother as a small boy to her songs. It’s something I did with my mother too. That’s the moment that harry styles became a megastar for me as a fan.

The new Harry Styles album, Harry’s House via Columbia comes out May 20, 2022. The album was recorded at multiple locations across the United Kingdom, Los Angeles, and Tokyo from 2020 through 2021.
