Have you convinced yourself that you can not make money as a musician?

It’s easy to think that way with the current streaming platforms paying so little to indie artists. However, there are thousands of artists making 100K + a year making music full time.

In this article, I’m going to tell you how to create a revenue stream from your music online.

No gigs, no paid showcases and I’m no asking for you to buy a useless learning program.

This is real talk coming from someone who manages indie artists careers for a living.

First, let’s quickly learn the difference between passive income and active active.

Passive income is money coming in from things you have set in motion and are now left with very little upkeep involved.

Such as: music streaming on spotify, YouTube video, podcasting or a digital album for sale on download from your website or sales sites like Amazon. This could also be music you have rented to other projects or placed in commercials or movies.

Active income is money earned from in the moment work.

Such as : gigs, festivals. teaching a class, selling merchandise or physical albums, crowdfunding and engineering music.

Most musicians have a healthy mix of both but rarely arrange a solid structure to establish income and keep it flowing.

Todays artists are finding that building an online community around your music is increasingly lucritive. This is also accomplished fairly quickly if you already have awesome high quality music and a fan base who already loves it.

So what is it about your music that everyone loves?

If you don’t know the answer to this question, it’s time we find out.
